We have had the pleasure of working with Jon for the past seven years on our household projects. He has replaced our decking, repaired our front steps, replaced our front door, replaced windows, added an outdoor shower, renovated our bathroom, replaced a large sliding door, and much, much more. Jon has been there every step of the way, as our family has grown so our house has evolved. He offers trustworthy advice on design plans, and then delivers the most innovative and practical designs without compromising on quality. If you have the opportunity to work with Jon, you won’t be disappointed. You’ll be amazed at what he can do in your home! We have been so thankful to work with Jon over the years, and also thankful that during that time we have gained a great, down-to-earth friend along the way. 

Jon McDermott is an outstanding handyman! He is prompt, thoughtful, professional, and courteous. He has done quality work for me, and always has thoughtful recommendations for my home improvement needs. I make out a list of things in my home that need to be repaired, and he breezes through the entire list of tasks quickly and does a great job. I feel lucky to have Jon as our Mr. Fix It! I highly recommend Jon McDermott, and if there were more than 5 stars, he would get them!

Someone my wife knows gave us Jon’s name, they said he was the best. He’s been to our home several times now. The thing that struck me first about him is that he is a genuinely nice guy, really personable. He gave us great service each time he was out here, and he even told us ways he thought our dollars would be better spent on our project. Never had someone been honest enough to tell us that. First time we met him we both got the feeling that we were in good hands, the guy really knows what he’s doing. I’m hesitating to write this review because he’s so good we kinda want to keep him our little secret!

Recently we hired Jon to do some work for us (installing exterior path and lanai lights, re-caulking our shower, and putting some new crown molding in our guest room). First of all, he showed up! And on time! We were thrilled! We found him to be a conscientious person, very professional and our list was complete faster than we expected. Jon has a wonderful personality and his work was outstanding. I really appreciated how clean everything was when he left. It was like he was never here, but my house looked better! We would not hesitate to use him for our future projects.

Jon McDermott was recommended to me by a dear friend and has been to my home many times to do a wide variety of jobs. He has done everything from repairing my Zen fountain and hanging an 8-foot-long mirror above my living room sofa, to hanging artwork and repairing my garage door opener. He has repaired holes in my fencing and a broken latch in a gate, and has given me tips on how to clean and unclog the faucet in my kitchen sink. He’s even been to my home a couple of times when I haven’t been able to be there. I trust him 100% in my house when I’m not home. He is honest, trustworthy, and always, always on time. 

I was doing a project that involved hanging 2 grates with offsets under a couple skylights. I struggled to get the anchors to work with the ceiling joists. After several attempts, I contacted Jon for some ideas. He came up with a simple, elegant solution and built the frame for me quickly. He installed them and they turned out beautifully! His design/build knowledge makes a big difference in completing projects the right way. Thanks, Jon!
